Scarecrow Jack – Album of the Year-2019
Congratulations to Scarecrow Jack for their recent accolade of winning the award for BEST ALBUM 2019, with their debut album, Welcome Autumn. The award was accepted by the founder and songwriter of the band, Theron Statler. Scarecrow Jack are from various areas of Ohio Valley area (USA).
Welcome Autum is an album with a blend of self-penned pirate songs and inspirational ballads. Center stage is Tammy Craig with her angelic voice, Several tracks feature Niilo Sirola, Hanna Heinonen and Salla Rimmi from Greenrose Faire and Jamie Peck Productions for the recording and production. They have all teamed up again for their upcoming album Gypsies, Pirates and Scarecrows. You can check out the new single, Love Wins, released 20/June/2020 on Friendly Folk Records. The new album is scheduled for a September/2020 release date, and will feature, ‘Love Wins’.
The fifth annual Celtcast Fantasy Awards took place 13/June/2020, a few months later than previous years due to the Corona virus event restrictions. However, the folks at Celtcast turned the online event into a four-hour spectacle. Nominations began in November/2019, allowing folks from all around the world to nominate Artists in several categories such as: Best Live Act, Best Debut, Best Music Video and Best Album. The first round ended with several dozen nominees, of which the Top 10 were selected for the ‘Long List’ voting. During the second round, a ‘Short List’ of the Top 5 in each category was announced.
Though primarily focused on European musicians and festivals, the awards are open to folk music from around the world. Internet radio stations also made it possible for Scarecrow Jack to be heard by folk music lovers. Welcome Autum was in the weekly rotation on shows such as: Kat’s Korner on Raven Radio (USA) & Progcore Radio (Canada) Folky Wave (Netherlands), What The Folk?
