Cuélebre

Cuélebre brings you Pagan folk music from Spain, that originated as an idea of band’s founder, Yhandros Huergo’s, who was searching for an archaic sound in the Medieval-Folk genre.

After writing and recording a few demos, he began his search for the right blend of musicians to bring his dream to life. Although influenced by bands such as: Hagalaz Runedance, Corvus Corax and Wardruna,  Yhandros managed to maintain a unique sound and identity for Cuélebre.

All the songs are original, and possess a special intense atmosphere with the archaic melodies, played on medieval and traditional instruments.  The base for the lyrics derive from old  pre-Roman Europe text, primarily votive text of the Iberian Peninsula (Iberian and Celt-Iberian). This combination make their live shows an intimate experience, a ritual between nature and human souls. They seek inspiration from the deep mythology roots that has survived for centuries in their homeland. Their songs feed on legends of Celtic, Iberian and Celt-Iberian beliefs. Each song emerges through the fusion of ancient instruments combined with modern technology on instruments such us: hurdy-gurdy, Irish bouzouki, a variety of flutes and whistles, accompanied by a powerful drums. Along with all this, they employ electronic bases which provide atmospheric ritual sounds. Empowered with melodic vocal lines and ceremonial chants, Cuélebre have earned their status of international performers who have participated in national and international events such as: Tormenta Celtibérica (Spain and Portugal), La Noche de los Candiles (Spain), Trolls et Legendes (Belgium), Festival Mediaval (Germany), Castlefest (Netherlands), Yggdrasil Festival (Italy), Celtic Nights (Belgium),  Wave Gotik Treffen (Germany), Raiz Ibérica (Spain), Beltane Pagan Festival (Italy), Faun Spanish tour, Mittelalterlich Phantasie Spectaculum (Germany), and more.
